What is peptide reconstitution?
Lyophilized (freeze-dried) research peptides arrive as a dry powder. Before a dose can be measured, the powder must be dissolved in bacteriostatic water — a process called reconstitution. The resulting liquid has a specific concentration (mg/mL) that determines how many units to draw for each dose.

Common vial sizes and water amounts
Most research peptides are sold in 2 mg, 5 mg, or 10 mg vials. A common starting point is to add 1 mL of bacteriostatic water to a 5 mg vial, giving a concentration of 5 mg/mL (500 mcg per 0.1 mL / 10 IU). Adding 2 mL instead gives 2.5 mg/mL. There is no single correct dilution — the right amount depends on the desired dose and how easy it is to measure that dose on your syringe.
How to read an insulin syringe
Standard U-100 insulin syringes have 100 units per milliliter; each unit mark equals 0.01 mL. A draw of 10 IU = 0.10 mL. Veterinary U-40 syringes have 40 units per mL; one unit equals 0.025 mL. Always confirm which syringe type you are using before measuring.
