Adipotide — Research Overview
Also known as: FTPP, Fat-targeted proapoptotic peptide, Prohibitin-targeted peptide
A chimeric proapoptotic peptide designed to selectively destroy blood vessels supplying white adipose tissue. Adipotide binds PROHIBITIN on fat-associated vasculature then disrupts cell membranes via a proapoptotic GLA domain, starving fat cells of nutrients and inducing adipocyte death. Studied for obesity treatment in primate models.
