Epitalon Research Overview (also known as Epithalon)
A synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) studied extensively by Russian researchers including Vladimir Khavinson for its effects on telomerase activation, circadian rhythm regulation, immune tone, and neuroprotective properties. Research suggests Epitalon may support telomere maintenance and pineal gland function.

What Is Epitalon?
Epitalon (also spelled Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) based on the natural peptide Epithalamin, isolated from the pineal gland by Professor Vladimir Khavinson. It holds the distinction of being among the first compounds shown to activate telomerase and elongate telomeres in human somatic cells — a finding with profound implications for aging biology.
Telomere Biology
Telomeres are protective DNA caps at the ends of chromosomes that shorten with each cell division. When they reach a critical minimum length, cells enter senescence or apoptosis — fundamentally linked to cellular aging. Epitalon has been shown in multiple in vitro studies to activate telomerase, producing measurable telomere elongation in aging human cells — one of the only documented non-enzymatic mechanisms for pharmacological telomere elongation.
Longevity Research
Long-term studies in rodents using Epitalon consistently show life extension of 10–25% compared to controls. It also stimulates the pineal gland to produce melatonin by restoring pinealocyte sensitivity to neuroendocrine signals that decline with age, contributing to improvements in sleep quality, antioxidant defense, and circadian rhythmicity observed in both animal and human studies. Human studies in Russia have reported reduced cancer incidence and improved cardiovascular outcomes in cohorts receiving periodic Epitalon courses.

Peptide Interactions
This pairing includes GH/IGF-axis signaling. Published evidence for the exact combination is limited; define exposure timing and monitor protocol-relevant endocrine and tolerability endpoints rather than assuming additive benefit.
These compounds address different research mechanisms represented in this preset. This is mechanistic complementarity, not evidence of clinical synergy: controlled studies of the exact combination are limited or unavailable, so interpret each exposure and safety signal independently.

Both work through pineal pathways - Epitalon increases endogenous melatonin production, creating complementary circadian and anti-aging effects
Combined use in Russian protocols shows enhanced immunomodulation and geroprotective effects through complementary mechanisms
No direct interaction - work through different anti-aging pathways (telomerase vs NAD+ metabolism)
No known interactions - Epitalon works through telomerase/pineal pathways while GH peptides use pituitary axis
Different mechanisms - can be used together safely for comprehensive regenerative support
Both have neuroprotective effects - monitor for enhanced cognitive effects and adjust dosing if needed
No direct interactions - Epitalon focuses on cellular aging while these target neurocognitive function
Telomerase activation in cancer context requires careful consideration - consult oncologist before use
