Our October 17, 2026 review found seven research peptide or research-chemical vendors whose own websites now show a closure, shutdown or no-new-orders notice, plus one reported closure (PeptidesDirect EU) with less direct evidence.
Between October 2025 and October 2026, a string of research peptide vendors closed or stopped taking orders. Lists of "shut down" vendors are circulating online, but many mix older closures, temporary pauses and unverified explanations into one headline number. This report separates them.
How we checked: on October 17, 2026, we visited each vendor's own website and recorded what it currently says. Where the Internet Archive has a capture showing the notice, we link to it; where a capture isn't available yet, we say so. Where a date or detail comes from secondary reporting rather than the vendor's own notice, we say so.

Two distinctions matter. "No longer accepting new orders" is not the same as a business dissolving, and an announced shutdown date is not necessarily the last day orders were filled.
Reported closures with less direct evidence
PeptidesDirect (EU operation at peptidesdirect.io) reportedly ceased operations in early October 2026, and the site now returns an HTTP 410 ("gone") response. This EU business is distinct from similarly named businesses in the US and Australia.
Why did they close?
Only StrateLabs gives a reason in its own notice: a changing regulatory landscape. Peptide Sciences describes its decision as voluntary without naming a cause. The other notices we reviewed don't state a reason. Claims online that a specific agency action, lawsuit or quality failure caused a particular closure aren't supported by the notices themselves, so we don't repeat them here.
Names we left out
Several names often appear on 2026 "shutdown" lists but fall outside this window or lack dated evidence: Amino Asylum (reported around June 2025), Paradigm Peptides (reported to have ceased operations in 2024), and Royal Research, Peptide Tech Labs, American Research Labs and Unchained Compounds (reported offline in 2025 without a clear date).
What about Apex Peptides?
Apex Peptides displayed a "Temporarily Closed" banner after federal searches of related properties were reported in September 2026. A search of Apex Peptides itself has not been established, and a temporary closure is not a confirmed permanent shutdown. See our coverage of the September raid and our two-week update.
