Orforglipron — Research Overview
Also known as: LY3502970, Oral GLP-1 agonist
An oral, non-peptide small-molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist developed by Eli Lilly. Unlike injectable GLP-1 peptides such as semaglutide and tirzepatide, Orforglipron is taken as a daily pill and achieves clinically significant weight loss and glycemic improvement without injections. Phase 3 trials reported approximately 15% body weight reduction in adults with obesity.
